My P9516 tablet was lagging like hell, and I was loosing Wifi with no other solution than to reboot. (Similar to the 3G issue)
So I've decided to re-install Krook's 6.1 image with CWM.
I've wiped cache and data, wiped Dalvik cache and I've also decided to format /system before installing the image.

Interesting to note :
During the first boot Google was able to automatically re-install ... two programs only (??) from my config stored with my gmail account.
I don't know why he was not able to install the other apps at that time.
But using the Google play option to reinstall programs stored in my gmail config, Google did automatically reinstall the remaining apps not installed
before when booting for the first time.
Before I had to reinstall the Apps manually one by one.

So it seems that formatting /system helps Google to automatically reinstall the apps from the gmail account backup.
It did not work after only wiping /data and cache.(tested several times)

But I've noted a strange thing:
My Wifi settings (fixed ip and my provider DNS server IP) were still the same after the image installation.
Normally it should have been DHCP after a fresh install.
I thought that formatting /system and wiping /data would have erased everything including the tablet settings.

Any explanation ?

Thanks
Yves

Hi Yves,

in the german Settings->Backup&Restore it says, that app-data and wifi-passwords will be backed up.
I assume that the wifi-settings are also backed up.

Edit: If your wifi was working instantly after wiping, without any "initial" wifi-configuration to get internet access, then forgot what I've said.

Hello Mickey,
Yes, wifi was immediately ready with my manual settings (fixed ip and specific DNS server) during the first boot after cwm installation.
That's likley the reason why Google was able to automatically install the apps from the Gmail backup. Or perhaps it's due to the /system formatting.
I'm wondering where these wifi settings are stored?
Yves
