Hi all,
My tablet is still alive ... but since the beginning it suffered from a very annoying wifi issue.
Lagging while surfing on Internet.
After several tests, I've eventually decided to replace the Wifi antenna.
As I've had to replace the fired motherboard with a Lenovo wifi only board, I've removed the 3G antenna which gives some room
to place another wifi antenna.

I've decided to use an antenna removed from an old fried router.
It's the classic black wifi antenna.
First, I've removed the antenna black housing, keeping only the antenna itself
I've added the old 3G cable to the existing cable, because the antenna will be located far from the connector.
I've simply disconnected the original wifi antenna and connected to the new one in order to make comparative tests.

The gain will speak by itself : 15dBm increase with the new ex-router antenna.

Using Wifi Analyzer I can see that the indicator is always in the green area, while it was in the yellow area most of the time before.

Now I can surf relax from almost everywhere.

The antenna, protected with a heat shrinkable sleeve, fits perfectly in the 3G antenna location.

Sounds interesting Yves,
did you made some photos while your building?

I never used 3G on my Medion- only Tethering via my phone...

Hello Marcel,

No, but I have taken pictures as I don't completely close the back cover !

The former router antenna is simply inserted in a black plastic sleeve of a smaller diametrer than the original housing.

Also for your information, that tablet works very well with an external Wifi dongle.
I've an old Netopia Wifi Dongle and I was curious to see if it would work under Androïd.

It works fine !

There is only a tricky method to activate it :

1- Disable Wifi in the Androïd Settings
2- Connect the WiFi Dongle and wait a few seconds for the dongle to be detected.
3- Reboot the tablet
4- Activate WiFi in the settings ... and the dongle will be used as a WiFi interface.
